Dr. Miles Mason has been involved in the practice of periodontics since 2010. After practicing dentistry for several years as an associate in many diverse clinical settings, he began his work at Montgomery County Periodontal Associates in 2014. Dr. Mason looks forward to expanding upon his eleven years of work with patients in the field of dentistry in his hometown.
Dr. Mason enjoys meeting new patients on a daily basis, maintaining longtime patient relationships and helping people to look and feel their best. In addition, Dr. Mason and his staff are dedicated to spending time educating patients on the condition of their oral health and to providing the treatment options they need to solve their dental issues.
Dr. Mason's personal philosophy mandates that healthcare professionals have a responsibility to provide the best care possible to the patients they treat. He views his job to be both teacher and healer, educating the patient on the nature of the disease process, its prevention and treatment to help meet the end goal of disease prevention along with management of the existing condition.
Dr. Mason is an active member of the American Academy of Periodontology, The Greater Houston Society of Periodontics, and The Southwest Society of Periodontics, where he has had the opportunity to present on dental implant related issues. He is also a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology. While a student member of the American Dental Association, Dr. Mason twice organized a team of fellow dental students from Columbia University's College of Dental Medicine to lobby the U.S. Congress on dental health related issues. Highly committed to his profession, Dr. Mason continually studies professional journals and takes courses in his field, far exceeding the required continuing education credit requirement mandated by the state of Texas.
Dr. Mason grew up in The Woodlands area, attending The Academy of Science and Technology for his high school education. After receiving his Bachelor of Arts in biology from the University of Texas at Austin, he attended Columbia University's College of Dental Medicine in New York City. He completed a rigorous residency program in periodontics at The University of Texas School of Dentistry in Houston. While a resident, Dr. Mason was awarded both the Tebow Memorial Scholarship and the Caffessee scholarships based on excellent clinical and academic performance. Dr. Mason is proud to bring state-of-the-art treatment along with the recognition of his peers back to his hometown.
In his tenure as a resident at the University of Texas School of Dentistry, Dr. Mason had the privilege of teaching roughly 250 dental students to recognize and begin the intervention of periodontal disease. While still a resident, Dr. Mason also conducted research to further the understanding of how inflammation of the gum tissue is related to inflammation in the rest of the body.
Dr. Mason is excited to raise his soon-to-be three children with his wife, Jessica, back in his hometown. During his time off, Dr. Mason enjoys spending time with his family, playing golf, cooking and watching college football.
Dr. Mason and his staff have been fantastic. Dr. Mason has performed periodontal surgery on me twice and always made himself available for after hours care and questions. The surgical results turned out well and working with his staff has always been a nice experience.
